College Hockey:
Kunitz Inks NHL Deal

Ferris State forward Chris Kunitz, the leading scorer this year in the CCHA and a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, signed a two-year deal with the NHL’s Anaheim Mighty Ducks. Kunitz was undrafted, and signed as a free agent.

Kunitz, the CCHA Player of the Year, was second in the nation with 35 goals in 42 games this season. In 152 career games at Ferris State, Kunitz recorded 99 goals and 76 assists in 152 games. He led the Bulldogs to their first-ever NCAA tournament appearance this season, where they were eliminated in last weekend’s second round against Minnesota.

Kunitz is expected to report to Anaheim for training camp next September. Terms of the deal were not announced.
