CCHA Suspends Northern Michigan’s Kaunisto for Blindside Hit

The CCHA suspended Northern Michigan forward Ray Kaunisto for one game because of what it determined to be a blindside hit to the head and neck area.

That hit, which did not go penalized in last Friday’s game at Lake Superior State, was reviewed by the league.

Kaunisto, a senior, will sit out the Wildcats’ game against Michigan Tech on Friday.
