College Hockey:RedHawks the new No. 1 team atop men’s poll
Miami is the new No. 1-ranked team in the USCHO.com Division I Men’s Poll after their two-game sweep of Northern Michigan last weekend.
Last week’s top team, Boston College, lost for the first time this season and drop down to the second spot.
North Dakota fell from No. 2 all the way to No. 8 this week.
Minnesota-Duluth, up to No. 3 from six, received one first place vote, while No. 6 Boston University, up from No. 8, received two first place votes.
Other big jumpers are Michigan State (up to No. 11 from No. 16), Maine (up five spots to No. 7) and Notre Dame (up to No. 13 from No. 17).
New to the rankings this week is No. 20 Rensselaer, a team that received votes last week. RPI and Minnesota occupy the 20th spot together as each received a total of 57 points from the voters.
