College Hockey:Major announcement this week at RIT
Rochester Institute of Technology will be scheduling a press conference on Friday, which RIT sources say is being held to make a major announcement regarding its men’s and women’s hockey programs.
The school has not disclosed details of the press conference, but it is known that the university has been exploring plans for a new ice arena and has been seeking funding for that arena.
RIT is about to break ground on a $3.5 million addition to Frank Ritter Memorial Arena as an interim upgrade.
The press conference is at 4:30 p.m. ET Friday at Ritter Arena and will be carried live online via witr.rit.edu.
