Miami’s Mason gets one-game suspension

The CCHA announced today that sophomore Miami forward Steve Mason has been suspended for one game as the result of an incident that occurred in the game against Notre Dame on Dec. 4.

The action was taken by the league after a review of an incident that occurred near the 6:34 mark of the third period and resulted in Mason receiving major and game misconduct penalties for hitting from behind.

Mason is ineligible to play in Miami’s next game, Dec. 29 against Maine. He is eligible to return to the lineup on Dec. 30.

CCHA is a joke league, the only reason they have a chance in the ncaa tournaments is they are pampered with BS ticky tack calls and a padded season. Who cares, is losing a player and dropping a game against Maine really going to hurt a team thats in a league with Ferris Sate, Michigan State, Bowling Green, Lake Superior, Ohio State, Alaska, Western and Norther Michigan? Besides the auto-bid, heres a free pass to the big dance to the three runners up. Honestly. . .

  How in the world can you say the CCHA is a joke league? They have had at least one team in the frozen four 7 of the last 10 years, including Michigan States National Championship in 2007… and currently have 5 teams in the USCHO top 20, including Alaska and Ferris State, with Western and Northern Michigan also receiving votes… similar results in the USA today poll…
  Every league has their Bowling Greens, Lake Superior and Ohio States… none of which are the worst in the country…
  If anything, I would argue that the CCHA doesn’t have some of the powerhouses that you see in other conferences because of how tough the conference is across the board. Furthermore, Michigans record speaks for itself, and Miami has come on so strong over the last 6 years to really assert themselves as a perennial force in NCAA hockey.
  Next time, do a little research before making such asinine statements.

Simply put the CCHA is overrated (slightly),
The WCHA is arogent,
The ECACHL is an excuse for schools to say there KINDA Ivy League
Atlantic Hockey is on the rise
The CHA is dead
And Hockey East is crooked, or at least terrable at officiating.
Overall HEA is the best followed by; CCHA, WCHA, ECAC, AHA
