College Hockey:
Blackhawks ink BC’s Jimmy Hayes

The Chicago Blackhawks announced on Tuesday that the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs have signed Boston College right wing Jimmy Hayes an amateur tryout agreement.

Hayes was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second round of the 2008 NHL draft before being traded to Chicago in exchange for a second round pick on June 26, 2010.

Hayes just completed his junior season at BC and was second on the team with 21 goals and tied for third with 33 points. In three years with the Eagles, Hayes accumulated 81 points (42 goals and 39 assists) in 117 games.
