First D-III women’s poll has defending champ Norwich still No. 1

The first USCHO.com Division III Women’s Poll of the 2011-12 season looks
similar to how the final poll last March looked.

Norwich, the defending NCAA D-III champs, stay at No. 1, getting 14 of 15
first-place votes.

No. 2 Rochester Institute of Technology, last year’s runners-up to Norwich,
received the other first-place vote.

Middlebury and Plattsburgh are No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, while
Wisconsin-River Falls is No. 5 after finishing last year No. 7.

Amherst starts at No. 6, Gustavus Adolphus is No. 7, Manhattanville is
eighth and Trinity comes in ninth.

Previously unranked Elmira grabs the No. 10 rank this week.
