College Hockey:
With 2012 NHL Winter Classic at Michigan Stadium, GLI to also go outdoors?

According to ESPN.com, the 2012 Great Lakes Invitational may be played outdoors at Comerica Park in Detroit to coincide with the NHL Winter Classic between Detroit and Toronto and Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor.

The story states that with the NHL needing to include the city of Detroit in the Winter Classic, “the league would like to build a second outdoor rink in downtown Detroit, probably at Comerica Park, the home of Major League Baseball’s Detroit Tigers.”

The GLI is one of the events that would be considered for the venue.

We pondered an outdoor GLI about a week ago.

That ESPN article pisses me off, the GLI, a tournament which features MSU, Uof M and invitees. Tech is the HOST and doesn’t even get a mention, what a joke.

And you expect ESPN to know anything about college hockey?

    GLI outside?
Lord I hope not. Watching two games outside for 6 plus hours in December.
On back to back days. Stupid.
