Boston University coach Parker issues statement apologizing for berating referee

Boston University head coach Jack Parker released a statement Wednesday night surrounding his behavior at the end of last Saturday night’s game against Maine, a game BU lost 3-1.

“I’d like to apologize to the fans at the rink and the CBS Sports Network audience for my verbal abuse of the referee at the end of Saturday’s game against the University of Maine,” Parker said. “It doesn’t matter what the substance was, the form was incorrect.”

The Terriers’ bench was given a 10-minute game misconduct at the 19:55 mark of the third period in the game after Matt Mangene scored an empty-net goal for Maine.

I was at this game it had all the makings of a great game teams where pumped arena was fired up then the refs sucks all the life out of the game. I should not I’m not a UMaine fan or a BU fan…The problem is the ref was awful on both sides. Every time a little momentum was gained the refs blew a tickey tacky call….It was completely painful to watch at times.

Hockey East Refs are one of the worst Bunch in College Hockey…when the NCAA’s are started…the teams check if H.E. Refs are in their site and know that the games will have NO Flow and many penalty’s called…they can ruin a great game and they have often.

Jack had nothing to apologize for….the calls on the ice were pretty pathetic. I’ve seen Bunyon ref other games…..and he’s poor. The only one that’s worse than Bunyon is Tim Benedetto.

Stop whining! Take the test, pass the skating part of the test, then begin by officiating youth hockey. Parker was an official at one time and was not so great either. Too many cry babies!!

There could have been a few embellishment calls too, but if anyone got the calls, it was BU

How many here are so tired of this act, he performs it everywhere he goes. He is a disgrace and I am way over him.
