College Hockey:Reports: Wallack named new assistant at Vermont, Gasparini and Gobeil depart
The New Haven Register has reported that former Quinnipiac, Connecticut and Yale assistant coach Kyle Wallack will replace John Micheletto as an assistant coach at Vermont.
Wallack was an assistant at Yale through the 2010-11 season when he left to become head coach with the USHL’s Indiana Ice. The Ice fired Wallack at the tail-end of last season.
Also at Vermont, the Burlington Free Press reports that Catamounts’ assistant coach Joey Gasparini and director of hockey operations John Gobeil will join Micheletto’s staff at Massachusetts.
“I don’t think change is ever bad,” Vermont coach Kevin Sneddon told the paper. “The only comment I really have regarding Joey and John Gobeil is I wish them all the best luck and thank them for their service. I really don’t have much else to say because my focus and energy have to be on rebuilding my staff and I’m excited to be doing so.”
