Connecticut coach Marshall taking medical leave; Berard steps in

Connecticut coach Bruce Marshall is taking a medical leave of absence, the school announced Tuesday.

No timeline for his return was included in a three-sentence statement issued by the school.

Assistant coach David Berard will coach the Huskies in Marshall’s absence.

Marshall is in his 25th season at Connecticut and has a 332-377-69 career record. That includes a 0-4-1 record this season.
