Can’t wait to see #1 Golden Gophers take on #3 Golden Domers next Tuesday. Will be my 2nd time ever at Mariucci Arena.

  • nogofer

The bc chirpers certainly are absent…

A snowman will do that to you. Of course, when my Terriers got crushed on power plays and 4×4 play the night before, we will not give the Eagles too much grief.

Michigan gets their two best D-men back this week…here comes their big push. Go Blue!!!

Tough loss but expected after what BC did to the gophers in the NCAA’s (too bad Sunday’s win didn’t count for anything) I’ll take a non conference loss in December over a league loss any weekend. See some of you in April when BC hoists #6

    • nogofer

The bc chirpers are no longer absent.
      Absent? No.
      Absurd? Yes…

    • Goggs

Last I heard a win counts for a win… What standings system are you working off of???

        Pairwise BC #1

        • Goggs

8-1 dude, which do you think means more to the Eagles?

  • pevan52

An 8-1 victory in December is not even close to the same as a 6-1 loss in April, but it’s a start. I can’t wait to finish the job in Pittsburg.

  • sioux rule

That was an impressive win even from this Sioux fan.

    • patrickolson

From a gopher fan who gives credit when credit is due, thank you, to a sioux fan who gives credit when credit is due.

      • sioux rule

If one can’t see that the gophers were running on all cylinders that night then they are blind.

        • patrickolson

I think you know both our fans as well as I do. The Gophers could have won 8-1 using 3 ppl the whole game and some Sioux fans would find a reason to critique….and vice versa of course :)

          • sioux rule

At my age I have heard it all.

The win is big for MN for climbing in the pairwise. I thought the win on Sunday was very similar to what happened in the frozen four game last April. In both cases neither team dominated play, just the winning team had some bounces go their way and scored when they had chances. The winning team also seemed to have pretty stellar goaltending.

  • Goldy

#1 in the polls, #5 in the conference standings. Huge gopher fan but that seems weird. Can someone explain this to me?

    • patrickolson

Gopher have played fewer games than those ahead of them in the standings.

      • goldy

ND has two more points in two less games.

        • patrickolson

ND has two more points in the same # of games (12). SCSU, DU, Mankato (always will be Mankato) have played 14 games vs. 12 for the gophers. The only team TRULY ahead of the Gophers is NoDak.

          • goldy

oops, that is what meant. Look, I love goldy but they just aren’t as good as they were supposed to be.

          • patrickolson

I wouldn’t say worse, but rather, much more inconsistent. They are more talented than last year, and when they are on they can beat anyone. If they can get the inconsistency under control and show up very night, they are a top 1-2 team in the country. Right now they are not though. I agree with that.
