College Hockey:
Report: Michaelson out as Canton head coach, replaced by Martin

While no official statement has been given by the school, the Watertown Daily News is reporting that Carl Michaelson has been replaced as head coach with the Canton men’s team by Pat Martin, currently the school’s assistant athletic director and compliance coordinator.

A Canton spokesperson said he couldn’t elaborate on why the change was made, but said it was a “personnel issue.”

Martin was previously Canton’s coach for seven seasons and during his tenure, Canton qualified for the National Junior College Athletic Association national championship tournament three times, including the championship game in 2001-02.

Canton is 5-11-0 this season.
