Report: Valentine to be named new Sacred Heart AD

According to the Connecticut Post, former Major League Baseball player and manager Bobby Valentine will be named the next athletic director at Sacred Heart.

Current AD Don Cook is retiring, effective July 1.

“An intriguing opportunity has been presented to me and it’s something I really feel I can enjoy doing and I feel could be mutually beneficial,” Valentine told the Post.

Reports state Valentine, who managed the Boston Red Sox in 2012, visited Sacred Heart in mid-January and interviewed for the AD job during that visit.
