Hobey Baker finalist Chubak bolts Niagara for AHL contract

Niagara junior goalie Carsen Chubak has left school and signed a one-year, one-way contract with the Adirondack Phantoms of the American Hockey League.

No official word has come from Niagara as of Thursday afternoon.

Chubak, one of 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Award this season, went 23-7-5 with a 1.91 goals-against average and a .939 save percentage and was named Atlantic Hockey’s player of the year.
