I happened to be in Tampa on business the week of the Frozen Four back in 2012 and every other hockey fan that I spoke with while I was there was absolutely thrilled to be in Tampa. I believe that the descent for Tampa lies with those who were not there and have absolutely no clue what awaits there. Leaving Western Pennsylvania in the cold and gloom of early April and going to sunny and 75 degrees is just what every hockey fan form the Northeast, Rust Belt, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Colorado could possibly want. Outdoor venues, friendly people, reasonable prices and beaches; good luck finding that in Boston ever or Minneapolis in April.
