• Arizona Volleyball Players Go Pink For Cancer Research

  U. Arizona (Oct. 17) — Pink used to be a forbidden color. Former UA assistant head coach Chris Gonzales put the reason behind the "no pink" rule in perspective for the players: He saw a picture of a beast of a volleyball player who was so ripped, tape couldn't help her. The photo would have been the most intimidating thing for any competitor had she not had a little pink ribbon in her hair.

• U. Wisconsin Athletes Hold 48-hour 'practice' To Benefit African Charity

  U. Wisconsin (Oct. 7) — University of Wisconsin-Madison athletes from all sports teams will be in Library Mall until Wednesday for the fourth annual 48-hour practice. The practice is to raise money for the Blood:Water Mission, an organization that builds water wells and supports medical facilities in Africa.
