SLU @ RIT is being played at Blue Cross Arena, in a supposed sell out (11k). I hope that SLU finds their hockey game, but I think you’re being generous with a 3-1 RIT win. I’m guessing 6-2 or worse, our defense/goaltending looks like it is still on summer vacation.

      Why “supposed” sellout?

    • Larry Fredsell

You’re right, it is a sellout of nearly 11k. But RIT’s offense was weak last week against Niagara, so that 6-2 score is not very likely. Also, Wayne Wilson is likely to play at least two, if not all three goaltenders in this game, so it won’t be only Madolora in net. The other two guys in net still need to prove themselves, even though they were impressive in an exhibition game earlier this year.

The RIT/St Lawrence game is actually downtown at (a sold out) Blue Cross Arena for homecoming. On the negative for Saints, the Tigers will have 10,500+ orange-clad RIT fans screaming them on. On the slight positive for the Saints, the Tigers’ record at the BCA is 4-6-1.

3-2-1 the last two years, though.

Wow. As a Colgate fan, I’m shocked that you picked us to get a win, much less a sweep. That said, your opening statement worries me.

First, it’s RedHawks. Second, what makes the writer think Colgate can get into Miami’s head(s)? That makes no sense — what are you basing that on? Third, Miami will be a dramatically different team to defend — IF — Reilly Smith plays this weekend.

I’m glad to see that Colgate is improved, but let’s take it one step at a time. If after this weekend, they’re 4-0, then it’s time to go all-in.

Seriously, you’re predicting Ferris State to sweep RPI? I can see them winning one of the two, sure. Not a whole lot of confidence in the Engineers I see.
