College Hockey:Air Force Pounds AIC, 8-2
Serratore Notches 100th Career Victory
COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. — Brian Gornick and Shane Saum each scored two goals as the Air Force Academy completed a sweep of the American International Yellowjackets and gave head coach Tom Serratore his 100th career victory.
After ending the first period tied at two goals apiece, the Falcons pulled away with four goals in the second period and two more in the third.
Air Force outshot AIC, 57-15, and moved to 2-0 for the first the first time since 1983-84.
Air Force will next play in the Quinnipiac Cup against Fairfield next Friday evening and the Yellowjackets will host MAAC rival Sacred Heart in a non conference game next Friday.
