College Hockey:Bouffard Leads Canisius to 2-1 Exhibition Win
Ice Griffs Down Ottawa in Oktoberfest Invitational
WATERLOO, Ontario — Mark Bouffard gave Canisius a 2-0 lead early in the third period on Saturday and The Ice Griffs held on for a 2-1 victory over Ottawa at the Oktoberfest Invitational at the University of Waterloo.
The win put the Ice Griffs into the fifth-place match Sunday against Wilfrid Laurier. They lost to Western Ontario 9-2 on Friday.
Bouffard scored the eventual game-winner on the power-play, off a feed from freshman Daryl Pierce.
Paul DiPasquale gave Canisius a 1-0 lead 27 seconds into the second period. Brock Rideout scored in the third period to cut the Ice Griffs’ lead in half.
Stephen Fabiilli made 33 saves for Canisius and was named the player of the game.
