Aubry Saves 26 For Shutout
ERIE, Pa. — Mercyhurst got two goals in the first period and held off American International, 2-0, on Friday evening.
The Lakers scored the first goal of the game shorthanded when Brad Olsen scored just 1:15 into the game.
The Lakers made it 2-0 at the 14:16 mark as Eric Ellis scored his third goal of the season.
AIC goaltender Chance Thede stopped 34 of 36 Laker shots while Peter Aubry stopped all 26 Yellowjacket shots. Aubry has now held the opponent scoreless in the last 89:52.
Mercyhurst goes to 3-1-0, 3-0-0 MAAC, and AIC is now 1-5-0, 1-2-0 MAAC. The two teams will once again face each other on Saturday evening.
