College Hockey:
Mercyhurst and AIC Skate To 1-1 Tie

— Mercyhurst and American International skated to a 1-1 tie on Saturday at the Mercyhurst Ice Center. Mercyhurst is now 3-1-1 overall and 3-0-1 in the MAAC and AIC is now 1-5-1 and 1-2-1 in the MAAC.

AIC got on the board first at the 12:31 mark of the first period when Trent Ulmer beat Laker goaltender Peter Aubry.

It remained that way until the 18:11 mark of the second period when Laker defenseman Mike Muldoon rifled a shot past Yellowjacket goalie Chance Thede to give the Lakers a short handed goal and the tie.

Thede stopped 44 shots and Aubry stopped 20 shots.

AIC travels to Holy Cross on Friday while Mercyhurst will host Canisius on Friday.
