College Hockey:Crookston Gets Bounces In 4-3 Win Over Marian
FOND DU LAC, Wis. — Minnesota-Crookston beat Marian 4-3 in overtime Friday night when a clearing pass deflected off a Marian defender into the net.
The Sabres twice rallied from deficits at 1-0 and 3-1 until midway through the second period, when Kirk Joudrey’s goal tied the score at 3-3. The score stayed that way until the 2:39 mark of the extra period.
Each goalie — Crookston’s Michael Dickson and Marian’s Terry Dunbar — each had 36 saves.
Chad Sperling scored two goals for Crookston, while Todd Chandler was credited with the game-winning goal, giving him a goal and an assist. Freshmen Joe Moreau and Joudrey each had a goal and an assist for Marian.
