The Ice Griffs then took the lead at the 13:16 mark on a Jason Spence goal.

Mercyhurst opened the floodgates in the second period scoring five times to open up a 6-2 lead.

Louis Goulet scored on the power play at 2:04. That was followed by an Adam Tackaberry goal at 8:54 and a Brad Olsen goal at 13:32. Then Tom McMonagle’s goal at the 15:21 mark drove Sean Weaver from the nets.

McMonagle added another goal with 1:17 left in the second period off of Stephan Fabilli.

Canisius will travel to AIC next Friday for a pair and Mercyhurst will not get back into action until it travels to Connecticut on Thanksgiving Eve.
