AIC Stops Connecticut, 3-1

Yellowjackets Go Out To 2-0 Lead And Hold On

— American International defeated Connecticut, 3-1, improving its record to 4-7-1, 4-4-1 in the MAAC. The Huskies record drops to 4-5-2 overall, 4-2-1 in MAAC play.

AIC’s Bryan Bassler opened the scoring at the 4:05 mark of the first period on a breakaway.

Guillaume Caron tallied a power play goal for AIC’s second goal of the night midway through the second period.

In the third period, UConn’s Mike Boylan found the puck in front of the net and placed it past Thede to put the Huskies on the board at the 4:45 mark during a power play opportunity.

Andy Luhovy gave the Yellow Jackets the insurance goal for the win with under a minute remaining in the stanza.

UConn’s Artie Imbriano made 16 saves in net, while Thede stopped 28 UConn shots on goal.
