College Hockey:
Lakers Skate To Tie With Brock

— Mercyhurst played to a 2-2 overtime tie with Brock University Tuesday night, October 9, in an exhibition game played at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.

The Badgers scored twice within a five-minute span of the second period to take a 2-0 lead., but sophomore forward Adam Tackaberry brought the Lakers back with a goal at 8:23 of the second.

There was no further scoring until Tackaberry found the back of the net again with just over a minute to play to send the contest into overtime.

Mercyhurst was awarded a penalty shot with 12 seconds left in overtime when Brock’s senior defenseman Adam Shields was called for delay of game, but Tackaberry’s bid to end the game hit the crossbar.

The Lakers outshot the Badgers 36-18. Senior Peter Aubry and sophomore Matt Cifelli split time in goal for the Lakers while sophomore Brian Harrison went all the way for the Badgers.

Mercyhurst will host the University of Findlay to open the season Friday night, October 12
