College Hockey:
Freshmen Lead Lakers

— Freshman defenseman Kevin Tracy scored two goals and freshman forward Andy Rozak added a goal and an two assists as Oswego State (11-4) snapped Wentworth’s (12-2) four-game win streak with a 4-1 win in a non-league contest Sunday afternoon at Matthews Arena.

The Lakers got on the board first as Rozak scored an unassisted tally with 57 seconds remaining in the first period of play. The lead held up until senior forward Tim Yakimowsky lit the lamp for Wentworth with a power-play tally at 17:20 of the second period.

Oswego did all the scoring in the third, using a three-goal period to snap a one-all tie. Freshman defenseman Mark Stroda scored what would be the game-winning goal on the power play at 2:01, while Tracy added two insurance goals, one at 10:31 and the other at 19:31.

Sophomore goalie Tyson Gajda made 26 saves for the Lakers, while Wentworth sophomore Raj Bhangoo turned aside 34 shots in the loss.
