Dominant second period carries Syracuse past Union

— Syracuse outshot Union 18-1 in the second period and got a go-ahead goal by Lisa Mullan in a 3-1 victory over Union on Friday.

Christina LaCombe and Megan Skelly (empty net) also scored for the Orange (3-2-1), who got 12 saves from Steph Jones.

Lauren Cromartie scored for Union (1-4) in the third period, cutting Syracuse’s lead to one.

Kate Gallagher made 24 saves for the Dutchwomen.
