College Hockey:
Little penalty shot launches Yale’s rally past Dartmouth

— Broc Little’s penalty shot goal, his second score of the game, ignited a five-goal Yale rally in a 7-3 victory over Dartmouth on Saturday at the Ivy Shootout.

Little also scored the Bulldogs’ first goal, which tied the game at 1-1 in the first period.

Jason Bourgea put Dartmouth (1-1) ahead 1-0, and Scott Fleming scored in the second period for a 2-1 lead.

But No. 5 Yale (2-0) then went on a tear, starting with Little’s penalty shot. Denny Kearney put the Bulldogs ahead 3-2 later in the second period.

Yale’s Kevin Limbert scored twice in the third period. Brian O’Neill and Clinton Bourbonais also scored in the final period for the Bulldogs.

Yale looks like they hardly skipped a beat from the finish last year. Even with the loss of Backman and Arcobello, they have a great passing attack and as shown by the two games, can put the puck in the net. Broc Little is going to have a great year. Denny Kearney also did well with the hat trick in Friday and then a few more points on Sat night. His Gold Metal (mogul ski) sister, Hannah, was on hand for both games.
