Tynan, Notre Dame squeak past Maine

— T.J. Tynan’s third-period goal was the only scoring as No. 14 Notre Dame got 22 saves from Steven Summerhays for a 1-0 victory over No. 20 Maine in the opening round of the Icebreaker Tournament on Friday.

The Fighting Irish (1-0) outshot the Black Bears 34-22.

Dan Sullivan made 33 saves for Maine (0-2).
