Howe, Colorado College blank Wisconsin for series sweep

— Joe Howe made 33 saves for his seventh collegiate shutout and Colorado College finished a WCHA series sweep of Wisconsin with a 3-0 victory on Saturday.

Archie Skalbeck and Alexander Krushelnyski scored second-period goals to put the Tigers (5-3-0, 2-0-0 WCHA) ahead.

Mike Boivin added a power-play goal in the third for Colorado College, which has won six straight against the Badgers and 16 of the last 21 in the series.

Wisconsin (1-4-1, 1-2-1) lost top-line center Mark Zengerle to a broken finger when he blocked a shot.

Joel Rumpel stopped 19 shots for the Badgers.
