Coyne’s hat trick leads Northeastern’s upset of Boston University in women’s Beanpot

— Kendall Coyne wrapped up a hat trick with an empty-net goal, cementing Northeastern’s 4-1 victory over No. 3 Boston University on Tuesday in the Beanpot semifinals.

Coyne added an assist on Casey Pickett’s first-period goal for a four-point game.

Chloe Desjardins made 38 saves for the Huskies.

Boston University’s Jordan Juron cut Northeastern’s lead to 3-1 in the third period but the Terriers got no closer.

Kerrin Sperry stopped 32 shots for the Terriers.
