College Hockey:
Slubowski’s fourth shutout of season puts Western Michigan past Miami

— Frank Slubowski stopped 32 shots for his fourth shutout of the season, and No. 6 Western Michigan took over first place in the CCHA with a 2-0 victory Friday over No. 3 Miami.

Jordan Oesterle and Chase Balisy scored for the Broncos (18-6-5, 14-4-3-1 CCHA), who held the RedHawks (17-7-5, 12-5-4-4) scoreless on five power-play attempts.

Twelve of Miami’s shots on goal came on those man advantages, but Slubowski turned them away for his seventh collegiate shutout.

Jay Williams made 21 saves for Miami, which trails Western Michigan by two points.
