Vaattovaara, New Hampshire upset Boston College

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Vilma Vaattovaara made 36 saves as New Hampshire upset No. 2 Boston College 3-1 on Wednesday.

Arielle O’Neill and Nicole Gifford scored in the first period for the Wildcats (3-2-1, 1-0-1 Hockey East), and Cassandra Vilgrain added a second-period goal.

Haley Skarupa scored and Corinne Boyles made 24 saves for the Eagles (3-1, 1-1).
