College Hockey:
Maschmeyer, No. 6 Harvard hold off No. 9 Boston University

BOSTON — Emerance Maschmeyer made 34 saves and took a shutout into the last five minutes of No. 6 Harvard’s 3-1 victory over No. 9 Boston University on Friday.

Gina McDonald, Samantha Reber and Miye D’Oench scored to build a 3-0 lead for the Crimson (7-1-1).

The Terriers’ Rebecca Russo ended Maschmeyer’s shutout bid with 4:03 remaining.

Kerrin Sperry made 29 saves for Boston University (10-3-1).
