T-Minus One Hour to Faceoff

High above rinkside at the Beanpot, we’re only an hour away from the faceoff between Boston College and Boston University for the 55th Beanpot title game.

Northeastern took home the bronze medal in the consolation game, scraping their way to a 3-1 victory over Harvard without forwards Mike Morris and Joe Vitale in the lineup.

As for the tale of the tape between tonight’s championship game combatants, things look pretty even on paper.

BU sports a 15-5-8 record overall while the Eagles are 16-10-1. Each club was able to win their “tweener” game last weekend, with BC riding the back of goaltender Cory Schneider in a 2-1 win over Providence and BU doing similar, knocking off UMass, 3-2, despite netminder John Curry having to make 32 saves.

Feel free to talk trash for the net 60 minutes, and we’ll have a new Blog thread when the puck drops at 8:07 p.m.

  1. WCHA = Weak College Hockey Assoc.
Is it 5pm yet because thats when the real hockey starts with the Hockey East .St Cloud looks like a girls team with the homo hair cuts boring game from a sub par league .

  2. Thought the Goph’s would play better than they did. It’s the last season after all. Who would have guessed that the last season it would be CC and Wisconsin playing for the trophy. Both teams playing really good right now. Should be a great game!
