Colgate the top pick in ECAC Hockey preseason coaches’ poll, media poll

Colgate earned seven first-place votes to sit No. 1 in the ECAC Hockey preseason coaches’ poll released on Tuesday.

The Raiders, who last saw themselves at the top of the poll to start the 2006-07 season, also earned 18 first-place votes in the media poll conducted by Ken Schott of the Schenectady Daily Gazette.

Defending national champion Union sits second and took home four first-place votes, while Cornell garnered the other top-spot nod and finished third in the coaches’ poll.
