Oilers sign St. Cloud State sophomore Russell to two-year contract

The Edmonton Oilers have signed St. Cloud State sophomore forward Patrick Russell to a two-year, entry-level contract.

Russell appeared in 41 games this season with the Huskies, posting a career-high 41 points (20 goals, 21 assists) and a plus-24 rating.

He was named to the 2015 All-NCHC Academic Team and to the 2015 All-NCHC Rookie Team.

Over his two years at SCSU, Russell compiled 66 points (30 goals, 36 assists) and 26 penalty minutes in 81 games.
