Hockey East announced Thursday that Boston College has been predicted to finish first in the annual preseason women’s coaches poll for the 2018-19 season.

The Eagles are coming off a season in which they went 19-2-3 in league play to capture a fifth consecutive regular-season title.

In the poll, Boston College garnered nine of the 10 first-place votes and 81 voting points.

Northeastern was second with 73 points and the other first-place vote. Maine (59), Providence (54) and Boston University (44) round out the top five, while Connecticut (43), New Hampshire (41), Vermont (25), Merrimack (21) and conference newcomer Holy Cross (9) were tabbed sixth through tenth, respectively.

This marks the seventh straight season in which the coaches selected BC to win the regular-season title.
