Wisconsin alum Winchester added to Badgers staff as volunteer assistant coach

Former Wisconsin standout Brad Winchester has returned to his hometown Badgers as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2018-19 season.

Winchester played at UW from 1999 to 2003, finishing with 40 goals and 84 points in 150 games.

He was selected in the second round (35th overall) by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2000 NHL Draft.

Winchester went on to play seven seasons in the NHL with the Oilers, Dallas Stars, St. Louis Blues, Anaheim Ducks and San Jose Sharks.

After playing three seasons in the AHL, Winchester retired from professional hockey in 2015.
