Atlantic Hockey suspends RIT’s Brown, Army West Point’s Franco one game each for boarding penalties

Atlantic Hockey has suspended two players following penalties received in games from Feb. 2.

RIT’s Erik Brown will be suspended one game following his boarding major which occurred during the second period of Saturday’s loss to Arizona State.

After reviewing the penalty, it was determined that the hit should have carried a game misconduct as well, thus the decision to suspend Brown for one game was made, according to an AHA press release.

Brown will be unable to play for RIT when the Tigers travel to Holy Cross for the first game of their series on Feb. 8.

Army West Point’s Dominic Franco will also be suspended one game for a near identical play during Army’s game at Holy Cross on Saturday. Franco was whistled for a boarding major but not issued a game misconduct.

However, upon review, it was found that he, too, should have been handed a game misconduct, according to a press release.

Franco will be unable to play Feb. 8 when Army hosts American International.
