Oettinger gives up senior season at Boston University, signs with Dallas

The Dallas Stars announced Monday that the club has signed Boston University junior goaltender Jake Oettinger to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Oettinger will report to the AHL’s Texas Stars on an amateur tryout for the remainder of the 2018-19 season.

Oettinger posted a 16-16-4 record with a 2.45 GAA, a .926 save percentage and four shutouts in 36 games with the Terriers during the 2018-19 season.

Over his three seasons at BU, Oettinger went 58-39-11 with a 2.34 GAA, a .923 save percentage and 13 shutouts in 108 games.

The native of Lakeville, Minn., was selected by Dallas in the first round (26th overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft.
