The New York Islanders have announced that Boston College freshman forward Oliver Wahlstrom has signed a three-year, entry-level contract that will begin at the start of the 2019-20 season.

He will play the rest of the 2018-19 season on an amateur tryout with the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Wahlstrom compiled 19 points (eight goals and 11 assists) in 36 games this season.

The Islanders originally selected Wahlstrom in the first round (11th overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft.
