DAVE DEE

Buffalo State announced Friday the hiring of former assistant Dave Dee as the new women’s hockey coach.

Dee, who served as the Bengals assistant coach and recruiting coordinator this past season, also previously served as an assistant coach with the men’s program from 1997 to 2005.

Active in the Buffalo Saints Youth Hockey organization for many years, where he was instrumental in the creation of the organization’s girls program, Dee was the hockey director from 2012 to 2017 and has served as the vice president of the organization since 2015.

With the Saints, he coached girls teams to back-to-back New York state tournament appearances, including a berth in the final four in 2016.

Dee competed as a goalie for North Country Community College and Wisconsin-Superior, where he completed his bachelor’s degree.

He also worked for nearly 30 years as a television sports producer and director.
