Bodie, No. 10 Union boost winning streak to nine in dumping No. 1 St. Cloud State

ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Mat Bodie scored and added two assists Friday as No. 10 Union ran its winning streak to nine games with a 4-1 victory over No. 1 St. Cloud State.

The Dutchmen scored twice in both the first and third periods and got 34 saves from Alex Sakellaropoulos.

The Huskies, playing as the top-ranked team in the USCHO.com Division I Men’s Poll for the first time since 2002, saw their unbeaten streak end at seven games.

Max Novak, Eli Lichtenwald and Nick Cruice also scored for Union, which was 2-for-6 on the power play.

Joey Benik scored in the second period for St. Cloud State, which got 25 saves on 28 shots by starter Ryan Faragher. Backup Charlie Lindgren allowed a goal on seven shots over the final 12:10.
