No. 1 St. Cloud State rallies to tie No. 10 Union

ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Jonny Brodzinski scored with 20 seconds remaining as No. 1 St. Cloud State rallied for a 3-3 tie with No. 10 Union on Saturday.

Daniel Ciampini, Daniel Carr and Eli Lichtenwald scored 4:01 apart in the second period to give the Dutchmen a 3-1 lead.

But Joey Benik brought the Huskies within a goal early in the third period and Brodzinski tied it while St. Cloud State had an extra attacker.

The tie ended Union’s winning streak at nine games, but the Dutchmen still have the nation’s second-best active unbeaten streak at 10.

Colin Stevens stopped 35 shots for Union, while Ryan Faragher had 23 saves for the Huskies.
