Straight’s second-period goals carry Boston College past Maine

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Destry Straight scored twice and added an assist in No. 12 Boston College’s 4-1 win over Maine on Saturday.

Straight put the Eagles ahead for good by breaking a 1-1 tie early in the second period. He added a goal less than four minutes later.

Teddy Doherty and Alex Tuch also scored for the Eagles (7-5, 3-3 Hockey East). BC’s Thatcher Demko made 22 saves.

Blaine Byron scored a short-handed goal and Sean Romeo stopped 23 shots for the Black Bears (3-9-1, 2-5).
