With its season on the line, Miami forced a third game with a 3-2 OT win. Grant Hutton scored the game-winner at 7:40 of the extra session when he got the puck at the left point and drove the slot, finishing it with a perfect snap shot glove side.

Miami took the lead just 1:54 into the game on a pretty play when Josh Melnick cut toward the slot with his stick outstretched and deflected Alec Mahalak’s blast from the right point past Dávid Hrenák. Miami took a two-goal lead into the first intermision when Hutton scored at 17:33, firing a beautiful shot top corner stick side from the right point.

Ryan Poehling got St. Cloud on the board at 7:20 of the second with a pretty goal that was set up by Mikey Eyssimont, who got the puck down low at the bottom of the right faceoff circle and sent a pass through the slot to Poehling on the far side, who redirected it in. The goal was reviewed to make sure that Jimmy Schuldt, who started the puck movement with a pass from the right point to Robby Jackson, was onside.

The Huskies tied it early in the third with another power-play goal, as Jack Ahcan got the puck at the middle of the blue line and sent a quick snap shot on net that Blake Winiecki deflected past Ryan Larkin at 2:43.
