Host Clarkson advanced to the ECAC Hockey final weekend by dominating Colgate. The Golden Knights jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first period and never trailed, winning the team’s first-round best-of-three series after losing the first game.

Jack Jacome, Nic Pierog and Sheldon Rempal each had a goal and an assist in the win. Pierog opened the scoring at 13:14 of the first, finishing off a pretty tic-tac-toe passing play.

Rempal got the puck at the blue line and sent a pass to the right faceoff circle for Jacome, who sent a pass to Pierog in the slot, and Pierog redirected it in.

Jacome made it 2-0 at 16:56 when he drove the slot and got a rebound, dishing it in past Colton Point at the left post.

Terrance Amorosa made it 3-0 with a power-play goal at 2:45 of the second, one-timing a blast from the right faceoff dot.

Colgate attempted to rally when Adam Dauda scored at 4:58 of the second to cut the lead to two, but Rempal, the Knights’ leading scorer, killed that hope at 12:28 of the second when he drove the net front and picked up a rebound and poked it in as he was getting knocked to the ice. The goal was his 22nd of the year.
