WORCESTER, Mass.<\/b> — T.J. Moore scored 11:40 into the third overtime to keep Holy Cross’ season alive with a 2-1 victory over Niagara on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The win forced a deciding Game 3 of the teams’ Atlantic Hockey first-round playoff series.<\/p>\n

At 111:40, it was the eighth-longest game in Division I men’s college hockey history<\/a>, coming just a day after a new No. 1 was established<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Moore’s goal ended a game that stretched 4 hours and 17 minutes and featured 111 shots on goal but just three goals.<\/p>\n

Matt Scarth gave Holy Cross a 1-0 lead in the first period, but Niagara’s Stanislav Dzakhov answered in the second period.<\/p>\n

Jackson Teichroeb stopped a career-high 58 shots for Niagara (6-26-4), while Matt Ginn made 50 saves for Holy Cross (14-17-5).<\/p>\n
